Friends for Africa & The Stella Foundation dedicate themselves to underprivileged children
We set up this project in cooperation with the Stella Foundation. The Stella Foundation is a foundation dedicated to education for disadvantaged children and orphans. The parents of the children pay a small contribution to the school so that the orphans in the area can receive free education. Knowledge is the first step towards a better future.
A sustainable Malawi
Education is therefore one of the most important investments in a country like Malawi. In the coming years, the Stella Foundation wants to become financially independent. One of the projects to realise this is keeping chickens. The pupils learn how to take care of the chickens and the proceeds from the chickens go towards investing in better education, providing meals for the children at school and paying the school fees for the orphans.
Update 2021
In 2021, we received the sad news that the Foundation no longer has enough finances to carry out the educational programme. We are looking into the possibilities of another use for the building. One possibility is an annex to the hospital of, for example, an eye specialisation department.
